Like Bill Jordan's (2000) recent editorial in Ecological Restoration, M. J. Stevenson's (2000) reply to Clewell (2000) is a bit too North America–North American for our taste and, more importantly, does not do justice to Clewell's editorial which—quite refreshingly—explicitly addressed the international "scene" of ecological restoration.
